A project is born in Aldea del Tudal, within the La Vera region, that brings together natural and artistic elements with the aim to mitigate the migration of the area. The proyect “A Ras de Terra” has repurposed an old tobacco drying barn, a symbol of the area, into a cultural space that reduces the divide between the urban and rural. It hopes to act as a meeting ground for international cultural interchange with local artists, focused on a variety of disciplines including gastronomy. This project has been recognized by the New European Bauhaus, due to its focus on the local, cultural and sustainable development – given the founders concept extending to using permaculture techniques in the farm land surrounding the center.
